Intensive Workshop • Moved by Berlin
Site specific Dance Performance and Camera
Brenda Waite and Jenny Haack

This workshop project addresses the visual composition of dance and performance in the city spaces of Berlin.
Each day begins with a warm-up in the studio to open our bodies to improvise and compose in front of a camera. We focus on Solo and small group compositions.
Looking at different places in the nearby city- surroundings, we work site specifically and engage in developing tools for the use of perspective and timing.
We use moving camera as much as still camera to create short video film- sketches in a team-work, (edited in-camera).
The main focus of the course is to develop individual skills in creating visual choreography as seen through the eye of a camera - finding your own way from an inspiration to visual realisation in a short-time-frame and as a team-work.
Post-processing of footage is not part of the workshop!
Workshop languages/ Unterricht: English / Deutsch, depending on the group
Please bring:
• experience in moving, dancing, acting or similar • a strong desire to create
• your own camera (if you do not have one, please contact me beforehand)
