Inspiriert durch den Experimentalfilm TANGO (1980) des polnischen Filmemachers Zbigniew Rybczynski skizziert das Stück DER NACHMITTAG einen Alltagsraum, in dem sich auf wundersame Weise die Handlungsabläufe der Akteure wiederholt durchkreuzen und trotzdem jeder Einzelne scheinbar berührungslos seinem eigenen Tun folgt.
Auf begrenztem Raum entsteht so ein Kanon eigenwilliger Alltagszitate in Gesang, Text und Choreografie.
Begegnungen entstehen unverhofft und enden nebenbei.
Ausweichen gehört zu ihrem Puls. Die Veränderung liegt in der Wiederholung.

Inspired by experimental film, “Tango“ (1980) by Polish filmmaker Zbigniew Rybczynski, „Der Nachmittag“ sketches a room in which the daily activities of some people cross repeatedly without necessarily interfering.
Seemingly contact-free, they each seem to live in their own bubbles.
Encounters are nevertheless inevitable in the small room and take the characters by surprise.
The meetings always happen coincidentally and end casually.
Within a confined space, a whole canon of quotations from daily life appears in song, spoken text and choreography.
